A review of how to import the UAV Tech Trace Templates (see below to download); how to work Blackbox Explorer (BBE); and how the Proportional, Integral & Derivative (“PID”) loop works. The PID loop is what actually flies the quadcopter. Your stick inputs are simply telling the PID loop roll, pitch, and yaw axis rotational rates. Having this issue with your log file?
This typically occurs when you are using a peripheral logging device OR an SD card to write the log on the flight controller.
Steps to resolve:
#1. If you are using a peripheral logging device, make sure you are using an OpenLager vs. an Openlogger. The “logger” is the first generation and is too slow for today’s loop rates. A LAGER is open-source hardware that is what you need. I have a video for how to set up an OpenLager at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO2hIRroFSw
#2. If you are using an SD card on your flight controller and have the issue, your SD card may be too slow. Check out this Facebook post for the necessary card speeds. To measure your card’s speed, you can use this software.
